Just joined twitter and had a quick go. Interesting but it’s not much good for people like me who don’t keep things updated regularly!

I am now on Facebook.  A friend asked me to join months ago so she’s happy that I’ve finally got around to it!  I’ve had great fun finding college friends and looking at photos of their kids, etc.  However, as some of you will probably have seen, I now have a whole selection of embarassing uni photos of myself on there – curtesy of the aforementioned friends!!

I think Facebook is a great tool for keeping in contact with friends all over the world.  I don’t think I’ll be using it as much as a lot of my friends – I don’t really have time.  They play games with each other and that sort of thing.  Cammyz has got me to start Hatchlings, but I don’t really know what I’m doing yet!  I have also just poked someone!

All in all, I have enjoyed this ‘Thing.’

Had a look at Google Earth (managed to download it on work PC – hopefully won’t get into trouble…!)

It’s fascinating but I can see why privacy issues need to be considered.  I suppose it’s a bit of a nightmare if you are a film star or a WAG.  I don’t suppose anyone will be too interested in looking in my back garden so I shouldn’t lose too much sleep about it.

Ok, so I’m in Google maps and of course I have looked at my own address!  Interesting to try and guess when the photo was taken.  I liked the other options too – thought the ‘more’ button was good with photos and wiki entries about the local area.  Here’s the link to my house: http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=&jsv=140g&sll=53.569931,-1.76043&sspn=0.018069,0.038109&ie=UTF8&geocode=FfFAMQMdvAHl_w

Got directions from Huddersfield to Madrid.  It reckons it is 1269 miles and will take 20 hours 13 mins.   I like the directions tool – I’ve used it before myself at home, seeing as I am one of the few people who hasn’t got a satnav!

After much to-ing and fro-ing (is that the correct spelling?) I have managed to add to the Guide to Huddersfield.  I have put some information about my home village of Scholes and I have managed to link the information to the main Guide to Huddersfield page.
